Accessing ICBC funded therapies.

Being injured in a motor vehicle accident is difficult and stressful. Immediate therapy is crucial to having more positive outcomes.

Due to the requirements and restrictions ICBC has placed on the access to funding for clients, it is exceedingly difficult for a claimant to obtain the therapies that are so critical for a more rapid recovery and reduction of symptoms both near and longer term.

Many therapists simply will not provide direct billing services for the client due to the onerous nature of ICBC requirements and lack of availability of appointments in a timely manner that adheres to the restrictions ICBC has placed on the claimant.

Dragon Lake therapeutics has committed to providing limited and dedicated appointment times to clients who are in the early window to access these therapies.

In order to qualify for the limited and dedicated appointments the following criteria must be acknowledged.

1. There are appointment times available for this service in the therapist schedule
2. Date of accident is within the initial period of the claim and no more than 8 weeks from the date of injury.
3. You are able to commit to minimum 6 months of scheduled and dedicated appointments.
4. User fee for a 1 hour appointment is $31.30. ICBC WILL NOT REIMBURSE THIS COST.
5. Missed appointments without 24 hours notice are billed at $130 per incident and must be paid at next scheduled visit to continue with therapy.
6. Missing 3 or more appointments in the schedule for any reason, may constitute non compliance to therapy and ICBC and funding may be terminated.

Once a client has appointments in the schedule, ongoing treatment is more accessible on a scheduled basis.

As such;  feel free to contact us directly if you fall within the first 3 months of your claim to determine if there are any of the limited appointments available that can work within your schedule.

If you wish to self fund your therapies for reimbursement to ICBC, feel free to book online at dragonlaketherapeutics.ca to set up your online booking account. ICBC will only reimburse the portion of your claim per their terms, which is not 100% of the normal fee for massage therapy. Discuss with your adjustor to find out how much they cover for you.
